General Manager – Manufacturing Operations
Location: Rowlett, TX | On-Site
Salary: $115,000 – $135,000 + Bonus & Benefits
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site
Lead the Operation. Develop the Team. Drive Continuous Improvement.
TrendHR is partnering with an established, family-owned manufacturing company in Rowlett, Texas, to identify an experienced General Manager to lead an approximately 85-person metal-finishing operation.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional who understands what it takes to run a successful plant from the floor up. The General Manager will have full ownership of site operations, including production, safety, quality, maintenance, customer delivery, financial performance, and people development.
The ideal candidate has grown through manufacturing operations and understands the realities of working in a production environment. Experience in metal finishing, plating, coatings, chemical processing, or a related manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
This position reports directly to executive leadership and will have the authority and accountability to improve processes, develop leaders, strengthen operational discipline, and position the facility for continued growth.
What You'll Do
  • Provide overall leadership for an approximately 85-person manufacturing and metal-finishing operation
  • Own site-level P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, operational KPIs, and financial results
  • Lead production, quality, maintenance, laboratory, and supporting operational functions
  • Establish and maintain clear expectations around safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and cost
  • Build, coach, and develop a strong leadership team while creating accountability throughout the organization
  • Maintain a visible presence on the production floor and develop strong relationships with employees at all levels
  • Monitor production performance and proactively address bottlenecks, downtime, quality issues, and delivery challenges
  • Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, yield, efficiency, rework reduction, and overall plant performance
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100D, ISO 9001, ITAR, EHS, and applicable chemical-process requirements
  • Partner with quality and operational leadership to maintain strong process controls and regulatory compliance
  • Own key customer relationships and ensure commitments surrounding quality and on-time delivery are consistently met
  • Develop and track meaningful KPIs that provide visibility into operational and financial performance
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, workflow, labor utilization, and overall profitability
  • Create a culture of accountability, teamwork, professional development, and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
  • 7–10+ years of progressive manufacturing or plant operations leadership experience
  • Previous responsibility for a manufacturing facility, business unit, or significant plant operation
  • Demonstrated experience managing P&L, budgets, operational KPIs, and financial performance
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across production, quality, maintenance, and related plant functions
  • Metal finishing, plating, coatings, chemical processing, or similar process-manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • A career progression that includes hands-on manufacturing or shop-floor experience is highly desirable
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
  • Proven ability to build accountability, develop supervisors and managers, and improve employee performance
  • Experience implementing or driving Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence initiatives
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • AS9100D, ISO 9001, ITAR, aerospace, or similarly regulated manufacturing experience is a strong plus
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Comfortable using Microsoft 365, including Excel and Word
  • Able and willing to work 100% on-site in Rowlett, Texas
The Leadership Style We're Looking For
This organization is looking for more than someone who can manage production numbers.
The right General Manager will be a people-first, hands-on leader who can set high expectations while earning the respect of the team. You'll be expected to spend time on the floor, understand what's happening within the operation, hold leaders accountable, recognize problems early, and help employees and managers continue developing.
The company operates using EOS principles, with an emphasis on clear expectations, measurable results, accountability, continuous improvement, and developing people from within. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has spent years building a career in manufacturing and is ready to take ownership of an entire operation.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $115,000 – $135,000, based on experience
Additional Compensation: Performance-based bonus opportunity
Benefits include:
  • Medical, Dental, and vision insurance options
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid time off and Paid holidays

Why Consider This Opportunity?
You'll be joining an established, family-owned organization that is investing in its people, processes, and future growth. The General Manager will have meaningful influence over how the Rowlett operation performs and develops, with the ability to make improvements rather than simply maintain the status quo.
For an experienced manufacturing leader who enjoys building teams, improving operations, solving problems, and seeing measurable results, this is an opportunity to take true ownership of a plant and help lead its next stage of growth.
If you're a bilingual English/Spanish manufacturing or operations leader who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and building scalable operations, we'd like to hear from you.
